One of the most natural things a person might want to do in life is to sit back and relax. However, if you live alone and cannot independently maneuver out of a comfy chair due to aging or a physical disability, this can be a difficult if not impossible activity. Medicare may pay for the seat-lift mechanism of a lift chair, but they do not pay for the comfy part you actually can sit on. Kinda of hard to relax on a motor don’t you think? But if you cannot come up with the rest of the dollars, you are out of luck.
This is the where the ASSISTIVE Possibilities Fund helped Esther, a North Dakota woman. She just wanted to rest and relax in a nice comfortable place, but, of course, she did not want to be stuck in her chair all day long, as well.
Last year, Esther applied for and received dollars from the Possibilities Fund to help pay for the remaining costs of her lift chair. We recently received this beautiful picture above of Esther in her new cushy lift chair with the following message:
“For everything you’ve done…for being the special people that you are…thank you so very much. Thank you for my lift chair, it has made my life easier and independent. I enjoy resting in it every day. May God truly bless you for your kindness and generosity.”
